In short
This page explains the Cookies application permissions (conceptual) and describes the roles required to access and manage cookie site configurations. See Access Management for more information on Role-Based Access Control.
Access: Requires specific Core platform permissions and Cookies application roles.
Enable: Users with the appropriate RBAC administrative permissions can assign Cookies roles to other users.
Overview
The Cookies application uses Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) to control which users can access the application and what actions they can perform.
Access to the Cookies application requires base platform permissions to allow the system to validate user access and display the application in the platform. After these permissions are granted, Cookies-specific roles determine whether users can view cookie site configurations or manage them.
This permission structure ensures that cookie configurations and site data are accessible only to authorized users while allowing teams responsible for privacy and compliance to manage cookie settings when necessary.
Prerequisites
To access the Cookies application, users must be assigned the following Core permissions:
Permission | Description |
|---|---|
Applications Permissions: Read All Custom Applications | Allows users to view custom applications available in the platform, including the Cookies application. |
Access Management Permissions: Read | Required to validate user identity when the Cookies application communicates with cloud services. Without this permission, the platform cannot verify the user and access will be denied. |
Cookies Application Roles
Once the required Core permissions are granted, users can be assigned one of the following Cookies roles.
The following roles control what users can do within the Cookies application.
Role | View Sites | Create Sites | Edit Sites | Delete Sites | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Cookies: Read | ✓ | — | — | — | Provides read-only access. Users can view all configured sites but cannot modify them. |
Cookies: Manage | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | Provides full management access. Users can create, modify, and manage site configurations. |
If the Manage role is not assigned, users will have read-only access to the Cookies application.
